The Foolish Man Built His House....

...upon the sand. Remember that story? What happened? His house washed away. I feel like the foolish woman who built her blog upon blurb.com. That's right. I started this blog so that I wouldn't have to scrapbook. The wonderful blurb was going to print out my blog for me and I wouldn't have to worry about my family's photo history. Well "whoosh" my house is gone because they no longer download blogger. I feel a complete lack of purpose now. I mean, what is this for now? What am I spending my time doing now? Have you ever seen a dance where people run into each other and there is total mayhem on stage? That's what is happening in my mind right now. Complete lack of direction. So I guess I'll post some random things. Like Jane's cute little "bun."

Or how about the new (old) piano we got? It's an Everett from the 50's that just got new keys 3 years ago. It's so great to have music in our home again. Although, I can barely play it with Jane and Audrey both on the bench with me...
Or did anybody want to hear about how we have ladybugs every year that for some reason love the bathroom. I catch them crawling around all the time. But the worst was when I was brushing my teeth (you know where this is going...) and I felt a "popcorn kernel"--you know those concave little thingos that get stuck in your teeth--except I hadn't eaten any popcorn! So I spit it out and you know what I found but you don't know how loudly I screamed! Man that freaked me out. (I don't think I would say "freaked me out" or "thingos" if this was going to be a printed and bound scrapbook intended to stand the test of time.)

Or how about the time (today) that I rescued all these things from the vent. You can look at our remodel pictures of the back room to see the uncovered floor vents. Covering them is only complicated by their irregular size, which we can find online but I just haven't done it yet. Anyway. By sticking our camera down the opening and snapping a picture, we could tell LAST DECEMBER that this rooster toy was down there. Couldn't reach it. At least a month ago, Jack lost his ball and I was sure it must have gone down there too. A few weeks ago, Jane threw her pacifier (at the same time as throwing a tantrum) and it slipped on down. Well today I was procrastinating looking at bills and this seemed like the perfect time-consuming-but-slightly-beneficial thing to do. It worked! I rescued the said items plus a bunch of nails!
Wasn't that truly random? Hopefully I find some point and purpose to these blogging hours. sigh. Until I do, well, who knows what I'll post next. Maybe some deep thoughts?

Man, we are all a bunch of fools. In the meantime, I still like the random post. Love Jane's cute little bun! Gross story about brushing your teeth with lady bugs. (I like that you said, 'freaked out' and 'thingos'.)

I posted on this today after seeing Pam's post and your and others' comments on it. You can still do it.

Meanwhile, a post like that is fun! Thanks for sharing the randomness!

I like reading all the random stuff that goes on in your life! It's so hard to know whats going on with each other without blogger since we live so far away from each other!

We get ladybugs here too! They come inside in droves when it starts getting cold; they're all over my office building! I've heard though that they're not really lady bugs--that they're Japanese beetles that evolved to look like them to fool predators, & that they BITE! Thankfully I haven't found that part out personally.

Jack is so glad to have that ball back. Thanks for a brilliant idea of using your camera. I'm going to remember that trick.
